“name” selects atoms based on their assigned names.

Usage

name atom-name-pattern
n. atom-name-pattern

atom-name-patten can contain wildcards, lists, and alphabetic ranges.

Examples

indicate name ca
indicate n. c*
select main_chain, name c+ca+n

Notes

Not all molecular file formats contain atom names.

Also, it is not generally guaranteed that atom names will start with the element symbol. Thus, it is best to use the element operator to select atoms of a given type.
