Setting Options

• -D defer_builds_mode-setting → set defer_builds_mode in order to defer generation of geometries until they are needed. This setting is can improve performance when loading long dynamics trajectories or thousands of small-molecule structures.

• -o → disable security protections – CAREFUL! ONLY USE WHEN OPENING TRUSTED CONTENT.

• -O sphere_mode-setting → show the molecule as spheres and set sphere_mode in order to potentially reduce the complexity of the sphere representation.

  pymol -O 1 huge_file.pdb

  can be used to load and display systems with millions of atoms.

• -Z auto_zoom-setting → set the auto_zoom mode.
